    hahahaha!

When you have two little kids screaming at you to start the movie because they want to see the cute little mice, 30 seconds of copyright screens, 15 seconds of skipping and fast fowarding, and 10 seconds on lame menu animations are enough to make you want to murder.

It's not the copyright notices that bother me, it's the 'public service' announcement they've started including that goes on and on about not downloading pirated movies - HELLO! I'm watching a DVD that I either rented or purchased (or maybe borrowed, but still), not one that I downloaded that's not going to have the message to begin with. This isn't a short video message either, it runs about the length of some trailers and is almost always impassable (sometimes you get lucky and it is, more often not).

The only people that are being bothered by this crap are the ones who are playing by their rules. It's insulting.

Most books nowadays have long screeds about forbidding all forms of copying, so, no, the notice at the end is not equivalent.
That's weird, must be very recent, since non of the books I've bought last year had anything besides the "this book may not be reproduced without the written....etc etc" paragraph

As I said, impassable trailers are much worse, as they sometimes last several minutes.
As Jessterw pointed out and (you would have know if you had actually bothered with reading the pic ) the anti piracy crap goes on for several minutes, are unskippable and generally so moronic you want to go to your computer and d/l something just for the aggravation it has caused you.

I wonder...what is DScaler role in that setup when watching DVDs?

I don't think this one is any shorter than the notices in DVDs and was taken at random from a recently acquired book. This is quite typical of most the books I've bought over the last 20 years.

Paradox: by reproducing this notice here, I'm infringing the publisher's copyright, although I claim a "fair use" quotation!

Brian I'm sad to tell you, but you have sadly misunderstood the pic I originally posted.

The image I posted is not against the copyright notice, its about the "Do not pirate" commercials that has become so much aggressive.

DScaler is the MPEG decoder, deinterlacer and scaler. Does a damn good job and it's still in Beta/Alpha stage. I guess I should say DScaler 5 0.8 Alpha.

Look the solution is easy you always need a piss or something to eat during a movie well just do it during the anti piracy bit.
