Yup, our other dog Xuong was thrilled.
In fact he died at 17 and I think he only lived the last two years because he couldn't bear to leave her.

Their reactions to her arrival were as different as night and day.

Thanks for the replies everyone, much appreciated.

Unfortunately the shelter that I thought would take him is not going to. They don't take mixed breed boxers. So now I need to start looking around other rescue shelters in the area. If that fails, I guess I don't have much of a choice but to put him down. Problem is, I don't think I could get myself to do it. I think of animals and humans as equals. I know a lot of people don't.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I am sorry to hear. I don't know what I would do in that situation.. we are still a few months off before we can test our dog with the baby. Any relatives around who could take him?

Know anyone who lives in the country, who might need another watch dog? Know anyone who owns a junkyard?

Yes, we think he has some pitbull in him, but no one knows for sure.

I totally understand all of that and Kona does protect her and he knows I'm the boss and he knows to stay out of her room, and I could go on but the point is, even after all of this, if you touch his bone or get in his space, there is a good chance he will attack you(except me and my wife and son who is 17). He is also an Alpha dog, he will fight any dog for any reason except for our little Maltese/Yorkshire terrier mix. He loves cats though We have two cats and he gets alogn with them and plays with them all the time.

We had a lab mix puppy for about two weeks. After he knocked my kid down the stairs two times he went back. Luckily the kennel we got him from was willing to take him and find a new home.

            So I can sympathize
