    Plumb crazy!. AFAIK, the only countries in the world that were on imperial and changed to metric, but kept miles on the road, are the axis of ...., the UK and the USA. (Before any Americans jump down my throat, the American National Standards Institute work purely in metric. I have, in front of me, a US Standard ANSI/IPC-CH-65 (1990), which has metric units and is printed on the Metric/ISO A4 size paper. However, it is perforated to the US 4¼" pitch 3-hole system, rather than the metric 8 cm pitch 4-hole system!!!!!! )

      You think that's bad?

      Our tire sizes use imperial rims (13", 14" etc.) but have metric treads;

      Ex: 235 x 14"/5.5" (diameter/width)

      and the bolt pattern can be either or a mix (imp. diameter w/metric lugnuts)

      The other day I swapped out our minivans fuel filter, which is mounted to the frame rail amidships. The hoses were 3/8" and the mounting bolt 14mm

      Better than a Ford I once had; the intake manifold used imperial bolts while the carb and exhaust manifold were metric.

      This of course means you need a complete set of metric and SAE tools to do most anything

        Well I got my license back very rapidly which surprised me. I've known people having to wait for months.

        So I popped an email off to my insurance company saying hey I've got a ticket and some points on my license.

        Now either customers service is handled out in india or they got mixed up between different customers.

        Dear sir if you wish to change your policy blah blah.

        Err I don't so I've emailed them again. Frustrating since this is the modern world I don't want to spend hours on the phone listening to music.
