Yup. To give NFL'ers a half-chance at getting some of them right. You must understand - much as your country's athletes might not top the intelligence tree... ours are downright troglodytic.

Gurm, you left out the fact that there is a time limit, i think 15 min for 50 questions.

The point of the test is to see how observant players are in quick succession. It's not meant to be a "smartness" test.

Vince Young scored something like a 7 and was the rookie of the year last year.

I'm not saying there aren't a lot of dumbass athletes out there, but I know of several who went on to get degress in engineering and law after their football careers.

But funny thing -- it'd kind of suck for all of us if all athletes were really smart people as well, that means not only can I not do any physical stuff better then them, but I'd be dumb too.

I just think that it's funny. Sports fans seem to think it's some sort of mental aptitude test, that's all. And the Wonderlic people seem to think that their test is being used in all KINDS of fields.

I've never heard of the Wonderlic outside of the NFL. Whatever they say is just marketing.

I had to take that test at my last job (software engineer). I didn't finish the test, but that's because they don't tell you if it's better to have blank vs. incorrect answers. The questions are easy, but you only get something like 12 minutes. When you do 4 or 5 questions in a minute, the answers start to blur together, and questions like #3 are a pain in the ass at that rate.

The only test in a long, long time where I didn't have tons of time to spare at the end. Football trainers actually train for this test, the rest of us just get surprised (you're not supposed to be informed about it ahead of time, because a little preparation really helps you).
