Hello!
After finishing my phd, my contract at the University ended...
As it turns out, it is quite difficult to obtain the financial means to keep working at a university without having a faculty position. Chances are, I can return to the university in January; but of course I'm still seeking out opportunities in Canada (and in San Fransisco, as I have a good contact there). So far this quest has been unsuccessful, but I have the impression it is not the right time now. But for the time being, I needed a job.
And I found one in a small company that was created by 3 universities. The goal is to develop software (and improve technologies) based on developments made at these universities, thus making the new technology available to key companies in the market. And it is perfectly in line with my phd topic!
Oh, for then next 10 days, I'll be at a 4-day conference in Mexico (Cancun)...
So I might be absent from MURC for that time (dunno yet).
