"Don't ever say no when the police tell you do to something. You better do what they tell you no matter what, even if you don't have anybody to help you. You've got to do what they tell you or they will hurt you."
Sage advice and a sad commentary on how gawdawful heavy-handed way too many cops have gotten in recent years.

This isn't even a "street cop" but a real estate version of a meter maid

Our city has one of these who literally goes out with a ruler measuring how long your grass is; under 6" and you're OK, but if it's 6.1" you get a $150 ticket. He gave one of our neighbors a ticket when his landscaper installed decorative grasses (often 36") in planters..."grass is grass". Fortunately the judge had the same gardener & grass.

Another neighbor waits for him to get down on all fours then turns on all his sprinklers

It might prove more eco-friendly then buying a new Prius, but it wouldn't be as eco-friendly then driving a new Prius. that old wreck would straggle to do more then 8km/L.
the Prius does double. plus I doubt a Pruis would end up in a river as its 100% recyclable (yes batteries too).

most of the anti Prius propaganda comes from large auto makers who don't have a hybrid in the market yet.

Where did they say "global warming" in the above link?

              ...perhaps something is going on:
              - last year winter: coldest I remember
              - this winter: one of the most warm
              - last year summer: hottest I remember
              - this summer: one of the coldest I remember

And as for the topic...anybody really thinks those concerts weren't simply for people to have fun? And if with some "enviromental message" attached...why not?

Semantic symmetry was not claimed as far as I understood the thread.

I figure climate is what you get when you average years of weather events (rain, snow , blizzards etc...).

so when a year's weather strays dramatically from a region's climate its interesting.
when a 2 years weather volatility also strays dramatically from the climate's curve, its also interesting. not the mention alarming.

Traditionally, climate is a 30 year weighted average of weather over the whole year..

                            - last year winter: coldest I remember
                            - this winter: one of the most warm
                            - last year summer: hottest I remember
                            - this summer: one of the coldest I remember

These all cancel out, both over the year and even over the seasons.

Not only that, but they happen to be in one place (presumably in Poland). Now Poland is a fairish size country. Was the weather the same, at those times, in Gdansk, Warsaw, Poznan and Krakow, each of which has different mesoscale influences? But a country with a bit more than 300,000 km² is hardly a dot on the global map, so what influence does an exceptional summer or winter, where Nowhere lives, have on global climate? Probably none.

That is why I always snigger when I hear someone blaming weather on global warming (without which, life on the planet possibly would never exist) or lack of it. They even blame global warming when they mean climate change, in their ignorance. Yes, extreme temperatures (either up or down), if consistent over a number of years, MAY be a manifestation of climate change, but climate change largely ignores extreme weather.

And, just to set the record straight, the global average temperature is ~15°C. What would it be if the earth's atmosphere were, say, 20% O2 and 80% N2, with no water vapour or any other gas? It would be about -18°C. The 33° difference is the result of global warming. That has little to do with man-made or natural radiative forcing related to climate change. As the name implies, climate CHANGE is just that, change.

                              Ah, I see...

And answering your question: yep it was/is mostly the same in whole country.
And I wonder in what way the "climate is average over 30 years" corresponds the thing that "cold winter" was coldest in 35 years and "how summer" was hottest in ~70 years or so...
