I would miss a keyboard on the iPhone. A bit suprising, but I use it a lot
on my HTC TyTN, for text messaging, email and data entry. Perhaps a
Nintendo DS like design (2nd touchscreen as keybaord) might be
interesting, but I'm not sure about the lack of tactile
feedback. The external BT keyboards are usually cumbersome (I want to be
able to type while handholding it). For GPS, I don't mind it being
external (gives also a chance of positioning the GPS receiver more
optimally).
The TyTN could be a bit thinner and lighter (and have nicer looks), but
other than that it is fine. I do use a bluetooth headset for calls, as I
find it too bulky to hold next to my ear. Perhaps there is something to
say for a seperate phone-component? (rather than a headset, an entire
phone module that can be separated from the main device and work
independantly?)
BTW, Road has also presented an interesting device, looks a bit like a
modern Psion 5mx but smaller.
I would wish Psion would return to this market. My 5mx is now 7 years old,
and still working smooth as ever (only outdated by lack of support for
newer protocols and weak CPU for html rendering).
