If you have any elderly parents who deal with this charity keep a very wary eye on the bank accounts.
This maybe a one off. However one their operators called My Mother and got her to agree to donate and setup a direct debit. My Mother isn't very well and hasn't a clue what her bank details are as I handle this side of her affairs. So she couldn't have agreed. It also means that keep your bank details on their records so they could ring get your parent to agree to any amount.
They do send a letter out which is the reason why I'm onto them. However this letter just says if you ignore it the debit goes ahead. There is a good chance that this will happen.
Luckly the amount they tried to take was small and I've canceled the direct debit online but I suggest you keep an eye for this type of con.
