The beer poll has been popular, so how about wines? It is not possible to do the whole gamut, so I propose we start by country. A subsequent poll will then categorise within the winning country.

      What, no multiple choices?

I voted "Other" because I like them all, just depends on the mood or the country I’m currently visiting.

I think my favorite wine (ok, putting it another way: bought when I want something better than usually, but still cheap ) is French Jeanjean Cabernet Sauvignon.

        I also like Hungarian Tokaji.

OK, I voted France but I have to admit, on a price/quality scale, Spain would be top of my list. Of course, with cheap wines, it is better to stay away from French, Italian and, to a lesser extent, Spanish wines. Then the huge supply of monocépage-wines from South-Africa, Autstralia, Argentine etc are to be considered.

So, what is the most expensive wine you have bought & drank. Shop prices, not restaurant.

South African wines can be really nice. Also like Californian wines though
