    Just when I thought we had, at last, given up on the cubit. The donum and the oke are still current here, especially the former.

      So my father wasn't crazy when he would say that our farm was 115 Donum. It's long gone but it stretched over a Km.

        Wow, that would be quite a size here, about 15½ hectares (the average is 3.6 ha)! However, not quite as big as Texan farms! The average English farm is about 40 hectares but there has been a lot of consolidation there and the average has doubled in the last 20-30 years..
