      I completely agree.

Jonathan Ross - now there's a waste of taxpayers money thanks to the BBC.

The pilot probably had a routine training flight scheduled anyway, so why not have a little fun at takeoff?

No more waste than for example subsidized opera houses.

Awesome, I love how far Top Gear goes sometimes. The best car show ever!

You can hardly compare subsidising culture with that.

Hey, car shows are a part of our culture too! It just depends on whether you're an aficionado of "High" culture or "Low" culture.

                        Top Gear FTW!

They recently had James re-test the Veyron at VW's top-secret proving grounds in Germany on a 5-mile stretch to see if he could hit the advertised "top potential speed" of 253mph.

                        He did. It was sick.

They wanted to see how fast the Veyron would go around the track but Bugatti refused to let the Stig drive one!

I don't think Gurm posted that.

"FTW" = "For the Win" or "F*** the world"?

                          "It was sick."

Eh? Haven't unpacked your grammar texts yet?

Anyway, last night's TG was an hour long special - three old bangers (in three old cars ) crossing Africa. Crap motoring TV but classic entertainment. As ever, I guess.

Oddly enough, when I saw the three of them at the start, I'd have guessed Hammond got the better car. Hadn't he crossed the lake on the wrong spot, he'd have had the least issues.

Still, it pained me to see him drive a '63 car that way...

Prob cost them nothing - the Eurofighter would prob be part of a test run or training, and it makes the RAF look good so they don't mind, and VW sent over TWO bugatti's for good measure. You can't beat product endorsment on Top Gear!
