What's funnier? The fact that he tried to use a gun and basically shot himself in the legs, of the fact that he was working for 2 weeks to remove the right rear wheel.

The right way: KD Tools KDT715 universal nut cracker. Splits large nuts in half in a few minutes, faster if you turn the drive with an air wrench.

"Only in America" should be changed to "Only in South Texas".

Besides, he was using ENTIRELY the wrong gun for the job.

Edit: Yes, I am well aware that Seattle isn't in Texas...

How did he expect to put any torque on the nut with a shot gun?
You need a solid bullet for that.

A hammer and two chisels (one sharp, one dull) is the correct tool combo.
I've taken off countless VW Bug flywheel nuts that way.
(you don't need the sharp one on castle nuts like that on the VW flywheel though)

Well, I guess a .50 BMG would have been better

                    Interesting project for Myth Busters.
Could you shoot the edge of a stuck lug nut and apply enough torque to loosen it?

Obviously a shotgun wouldn't work because it would apply force to both sides of the nut.

PS Doc, are you sure that isn't a .50 BFG ?
