I suspect the graph is somewhat skewed in the sense that military expenditure will all be through the governments budget wheres R&D will mostly private or at least semi-public and thus underestimated from an entire economy POV. This is relevant as we, I would venture, would not want private expenditure on war...Join MURCs Distributed Computing effort for Rosetta@Home and help fight Alzheimers, Cancer, Mad Cow disease and rising oil prices.
