What's with the hairy velociraptor? Are they taking the Dr. Alan Grant theory? (Jurassic Park)

Not hairy. Velociraptors were covered with feathers, as were many theropods (T-Rex family). Several fossils found in China a few years ago cinched their direct connection to birds; their feathers were extremely well preserved and either down or secondary feathers that are dead-ringers for those of modern birds. They even had quill knobs on their bones where feather ligaments attach, just like birds.

Considering that it was ~2m long, which means ~50cm heigh, which means ~10cm jaws...

That is the result of what happens when the accidental mixing of the remains of an allosaurus and a utharaptor is put togheter by a junior paleontolog.
