  • Chinese capacitors?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's fake, but will all the crap that was publicised recently...

You are probably right, it's a 95% chance that it's a fake. Reasons:
    1. The blue capacitor is a Rubycon, a comparatively costly Japanese component that would cost 3x more than a Chinese-made one.
    2. It would seem that the overall height of the blue assembly is greater than the can could accommodate
    3. The intact black cap has been clumsily unsoldered from an assembly
    4. The blue cap has been equally clumsily soldered to the base, certainly not in a way that would be economical in a production line
    5. It would be conceivable that the Chinese may be low on the capacity rating, but never on the voltage rating of an aluminium electrolytic. There is every chance it would explode if you applied 50 V to a 35 V cap.
    6. There is no evidence that the Rubycon cap is anything but new.
    7. The casing is the most expensive individual part of a capacitor.

Possibly a stupid smear campaign for the credulous!

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, but it's entertaining as hell

Then those would be Russian caps

And...hmmm, explode :> (must play with overvolting capacitors )
