'w00t' crowned US word of the year...
"w00t," an expression of joy coined by online gamers, was crowned word of the year on Tuesday by the publisher of a leading US dictionary.
It is like saying "yay," the dictionary said.

Yeah...and isn't this mostly a "person of the year"-like stunt that Time did a year ago?
edit: wait, users voted this...who'd have guessed
BTW, I take it that "w00t" actually sounds good for native speakers? You should be thankfull for that...here it's very common that "internet words" are normal words stripped of beyond comprehension...yes, not only without affixes, often root morpheme is stripped of jalf of letters/etc.
Soudns horrible, also as in "doesn't seem right for the brain" and...is popular :/
edit 2:
"People look for self-evident numeral-letter substitutions: 0 for O; 3 for E; 7 for T; and 4 for A," he said. "This is simply a different and more efficient way of representing the alphabetical character."
