Police seize crystal ball as medium arrested
A 44-YEAR-old English Cypriot woman was arrested late on Friday night in connection with witchcraft and fraud claims.
After receiving a complaint by a woman who often visited the “medium†and claimed she had paid large amounts of money to have her future predicted, Strovolos police decided to set a trap.
An undercover policewoman visited the 44-year-old pretending to be a client and booked an appointment to learn about the future of her relationship.
The woman, who used a crystal ball, charged £20 for a 10-minute visit. After two visits, the undercover officer arranged a third appointment, during which, police broke in and arrested the suspect.
She was taken to Strovolos Police Station, where she was remanded in custody. Her crystal ball was confiscated and will be used as evidence in court.
