OR whatever number I'm up to. With the spring/summer movie season approaching there is a good deal to watch.
Redbelt
- An interesting looking movie about the honor in martial arts versus prize fighting. This could easily be a sleeper hit.
The Happening
- M. Night Shyamalan's latest. The world population is under attack again, but this time it looks chemical/biological, with possible mysterious origins (of course). Fortunately with this one, it looks like the attack comes early and most of the movie is action/adventure/mystery...with M. Night's typical theological twists in it.
The Bank Job
- Staring fan favorite Jason Statham, this is a look at the 1971 Baker Street bank robbery in London (also known as the Walkie Talkie Robbery). The director supposedly found a "deep throat" whistleblower that spilled the beans on what really happened with the robbery and why MI5 put a D-notice (media blackout) on all coverage of it. Looks very enteraining.
The Forbidden Kingdom
-Jet Li and Jackie Chan's first, and maybe only, movie together. I mentioned it before, but trailer 2b is out and has some teaser footage of Jet and Jackie fighting. It looks like a primarily American production, partly written by Jet Li and based loosely on Journey to the West. I'm very excited about this one.
CJ7
- The latest Steven Chow import from Hong Kong, in the same comic kung fu light as Shoalin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. Looks amusing to say the least.
Diary of the Dead
- Not a zombie movie lover personally, but this one looked fun. This one is done by zombie legend George A. Romero.
Superhero Movie
- Spoof of just about every superhero comic movie ever made. Looks...about what you'd expect.
Flawless
- Diamond heist thriller set in the 60's staring Demi Moore and Michael Cane.
Ironman
- Actually looks watchable, despite what I initially thought. Should be interesting to see how it turns out.
Doomsday
- Kate Beckinsale's latest. Action movie + Kate means the rest is just foreplay.
Defiance
- This will likely suffer the same fate as "Enemy at the Gate" since, but it looks damn good. This about a group of Russians and Jews who fled to the woods to escape the Nazi occupation of Eastern Europe and western Russia. Led by Daniel Craig's character (the newest James Bond) they begin a geurilla war against the Nazi's.
Son of Rambow
- Interesting...
What Happens in Vegas
- One of the few romantic comedies that doesn't look like utter garbage.
88 Minutes
- A psychological thriller staring Al Pacino.
That just about covers it.
