          I quite liked it.

          What kind of reactor was it? Was it some sort of cold fusion reactor?

            In the Marvel universe Starks device is called an "Arc Reactor", which interestingly enough is similar to a term used for a type of plasma waste disposal unit - plasma arc reactor - which basically turns waste back into its constituent elements by hitting it with superheated plasma. Not too unlike a VASIMR rocket either.

                  Update:

                  Iron Man now ranks as the 2nd biggest US debut ever for a non-sequel movie. In first place is Spider-Man I.

                  Based on the reception of "Iron Man" Marvel (who self-finances their flicks) has announced that there will be the following films;

                  X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

                  X-Men Origins:
                  Magneto (2009)

                  Iron Man II (2010)

                  Doctor Strange (2010) (Guillermo Del Toro directing the Sorcerer Supreme ) (BTW: Dr.Mordrid, the 1992 movie, was originally supposed to be a Doctor Strange flick, but Full Moon lost the rights to the name for taking too long)

                  Nick Fury (2010) (based on the "Ultimate Nick Fury")

                  Thor (2010)

                  The First Avenger: Captain America (2011) (plays 1st)

                  The Avengers (2011) (plays 2nd) (Marvel's version of Justice League, but with floating membership)

                  Iron Man III
                  (2012)

                  Ant-Man (undated) [powers based on nano-technology]

                  Deathlok (undated) (was the inspiration for RoboCop)

                    From the article I saw yesterday, Marvel said they won't have any new movies out next year and their next flick will be the Ironman squeal in 2010
                    Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

                      I do hope they base it on the second Deathlok (Michael Collins)

                        This just in: in Iron Man II and III Terrence Howard, who plays Starks buddy Jim Rhodes (Rhodey) will, as he did in the comics, take on the role of WAR MACHINE.

                        Already sounding good

                          Always liked the concept of War Machine. Its always nice to have a guy in these suits you don't want to beat upside the head as well

                          Since its an origins movie it won't happen but it would be nice if you had the shadowcat/logan or nightcrawler/logan dynamics in it. I pretty much can guaranty that sabertooth will be in it though.

                            Confirmed characters in Wolverine;

                            Wolverine (natch), Deadpool, Sabertooth, Beak, Silver Fox, Agent Zero, Gambit, Blob, WeaponX

                            Confirmed characters in Magneto;

                            So far just Magneto and Xavier

                            How about Tom Hardy as Xavier? He played a young clone of Picard in the last Star Trek TNG flick, and I thought admirably so.
