Tattoos, wounds/scars...and anyway, which Cylons would do that, exactly? And when was her mind downloaded? (which suggests that she didn't perish in that explosion anyway, so no cloning necessary). Heck, together with having one time discrepency already, why not go all the way and assume that perhaps, perhaps this is the same Viper...just after rolling out of production line ~40 (?) years ago.

It's likely that tech in BSG at least allows for both. In case of cloning you have an unanswered question "when was her mind downloaded?". Time travel...well, travelling just below the speed of light/faster than light handles the technicall side of that issue (nevermind the flaw that's present in most SciFi - why FTL, usually, doesn't mean going back in time? :> )

Another thought, more about the background story...why exactly Cylons want to be more like humans?...from the pov of their initiall forms that has only disadvantages, especially if you want to claim deep space, not only few planets far between...
