Apparently the remix of "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" used for the Watchmen trailer comes from the soundtrack of argueably the worse comic book movie ever, Batman and Robin, from about 10 years ago.

You never saw the 1991 "Captain America" or the 1994 "Fantastic Four" (both Roger Corman monstrosities) or Shaquille O'Neal as "Steel", did you?

Oh GOD Steel..... out of all the post Superman death storylines that was the one that I actually liked and thought was an interesting character... and then... that movie......

I have unfortunatley seen all of them including Fury (staring Hasslu..hassle..the guy from knightrider as Nick Fury ) and they all was a stunning example of writers that never even saw the source material

That is actually very plausible. Most comic book to movie translations of the past were done solely by old school professional screenplay writers who couldn't give a crap about the source material and had no emotional connection with the story or characters or nerds turned B-rated writer with no clue on how to make a working Hollywood screenplay and made the script too close to the material. The studios thought that said professional writers could pull it off, and they tried to give the nerds a shot, but box office sales said that tactic didn't work.

Then someone got smart, though I don't know exactly when, but the first X-men movie was near the beginning, and hired two writers to create the screenplay. One writer was a pure screenwriting pro, the other a pro writer but a fan of the comic, or at least one that understood comics enough to keep the movie somewhat faithful to the feel, style and story of the source.

Suddenly the writer team style was producing mega-box-office-blockbusters and other studios got the hint. Thus the modern comic book movie was born.
