9-Year-Old Arrested In Del. Kitten-Burning Case

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS 3) ― A 9-year-old Delaware boy has been arrested and charged in a shocking crime that left a kitten dead.

New Castle County Police and officers from Delaware SPCA arrested the boy Friday after he allegedly set the kitten on fire in Edgemoor. Neighbors told police the boy, and two friends, poured lighter fluid on the kitten and then set it on fire. The kitten then ran to a nearby tree on N. Rodney Drive where its charred remains were found.

Authorities say the boy, who stands only 4'5" and weighs 60 lbs., has been charged with one count of "cruelty to animal that causes death" and remains in custody at the New Castle County Detention Center after failing to post $4,000 bail.

Police say they are still searching for two more juveniles who are reportedly linked to the intentional killing of the young feline.

It is unclear if the kitten was a stray or belonged to someone in the neighborhood.

I remember back in university, when one of my roommates were getting the most screwed up pictures in email, one was a series of pictures of exactly that .. I have to wonder if the kid somehow sumbled across those somewhere on the internet.. that said, he should know better. Sad indeed

Zoosadism is one of the early signs seen in serial killers. Other signs are fire starting and bed wetting.

Types include (simplistic list, but in general);

Gain motivated (hit men etc.)
Hedonistic (kills for pleasure; The Joker)
Missionary (doing society a favor; often kill prostitutes)
Power motivated (child abusers & rapists who kill - often abused themselves)
Visionary (hears voices telling them to kill)

or a mix of the above

Some can't be categorized ("he just snapped!"), most likely due to some psychosis, behavior changes post head trauma, brain tumors etc.

Scientists have not completely resolved this question. It has been shown that serial killers usually have ingested some MSC in the hours before committing their crimes, but no proof has been furnished that this is causal.

Been used to eating "Real" food for a few years now, with No salt, pepper, or anything added, except maybe gravy when needed. (Bisto dry powder gravy, probably super bad, but super nice).
