It appears that they have released a couple of songs from their newest, yet to be released album.
The one song, "The Day That Never Comes," and bits of "A Little Taste of Death" already sound better than everything on St. Anger and most of the stuff on Load/Reload. The vocals are still post-black album harsh, Hetfield's voice will never sound that same after his 8-year Jaggermeister bender, but the music is mostly old school pre-Black album goodness.

And the new album is officially done, with the first song on the air already.
