  • The 401-Keg Plan.

If You Purchased $1,000 worth of Nortel Stock one year ago it would now be worth $49.

With AIG, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1,000.

And with Worldcom, you would have less than $5 left.

If you had purchased $1,000 of Delta Airlines stock you'd have $51 left.

With United Airlines you would be left with nothing.

Now, If you had bought $1,000 worth of Beer a year ago, drunk it all, then turned in the cans for recycling you'd have $67.50.

Based on the above, the best current retirement investment advice I can give you is to drink heavily and save your cans.

I call this the 401-Keg Plan.

Wouldn't buying beer in bottles be a better investment?
      (empty bottles......)

Most states in the US don't have a glass return fee like they do in Europe, but everyone can get money for recycling aluminium cans.

          Strange how these things differ...
Cans are recycled here as well, but they are collected in a special garbage bags (only suited for cans, certain plastics and drink cartons). We don't get money for them though: the special garbage bags are slightly cheaper than ordinary garbage bags, to encourage people; but that is it!

            HA! Here you can do...both!

(OK, not really "money for glass" - just leaving old one when you buy new one
And most people throw cans in recycling trash bin (ok...probably in ordinary trash tbh), with the miniscule amount of money for cans (though during one academic year we designated one wardrobe as a used cans storage, for funding of the drinking at the end ))
