As a sequel to the prostate problem when I was in hospital with the chest infection, I was recently put on Flomax. For me, it is a drug from hell with the following side-effects:
- severe headache
- painful sinusitis and post-nasal drip
- insomnia
- dizziness (possible interaction with other drugs for blood pressure)
- backache
It seems that >20% of men (rarely prescribed for women except for renal calculi) suffer severe side-effects and a further 20% have less severe ones. I question whether such drugs should be prescribed when the side-effects, as in my case, are far worse than the problem it is supposed to treat, which is treatable by benign TUP surgery.
