Sounds like a 'climate change' lecture
Actually the current Chrysler 62TE 6-speed FWD automatic transmission is a Daimler design made at the Chrysler plant in Kokomo Indiana. It's also used in the VW Routan. It shifts fast as hell and is very durable save for one factor not of Chrysler's (or Daimler's) doing.
The problem is that a lot of fast lube joints and shade tree mechanics don't follow spec, thinking you can dump generic Dexron/Mercon transmission fluid in Chrysler transmissions - but you can't. If the recommended fluid isn't used it'll cook the box in short order.
Same goes for a lot of other transmissions these days.
