      Modern students need to learn at least 3 things:

      1) Division
      2) Team work
      3) English

      Most of my pupils deals rather well with 3), agrees to work on 2) and fails flat on 1).

      Two weeks ago I had to teach my highschool class how to divide by 1. Really. ½ divided by 1 yielded answers from 2 to 0,25.

      I then continued with: "You own half an apple an have to share it with yourself. How much apple have you got?".

      That at least got them embarrased.

      So now I start every class with: Last week You learned how to divided by 1. Today we are going a bit further...
