I have had a song running through my mind for several days and if I can't find the title and artist it's going to drive me mad!
I can't remember enough of the lyrics to Google it!
It's a fairly well known pop-reggae song from the mid-late 1960's. Definitely not Marley, DEFINITELY not "Louie-Louie". IIRC it's a song of woe, from the point of view of a man who comes home in the morning from working all night, to be greeted by his wife who tells him she's leaving him and taking the kids with her. The refrain is a single long "whoah-o-o-o-o-o-o" and a five syllable lyric, repeated between verses.
I wish I could help you guys with the melody. It's a simple 1/4 or 2/4 beat with acoustic guitars predominating.
I figure if anyone can help me it might be you guys. The only alternative I can think of is to keep listening to the oldies station on the off-chance I'll catch it again. God only knows how long that will be!
