Why would I travel 12,000 miles to do something I could just as easily do at home? Are NZ sheep more tender?

Hwy 10 around to Hwy 1 to the north end Cape Reinga and back down Hwy 1 , than around 12 to 14 via the Kauri forests - Waipoua forest is a scenic drive.
