I think there's some evidence of T-ray scanners causing DNA damage. Depending on what the relative effect is as compared to flying or baking in the sun, I'm not sure if I would like to be scanned often.

Questions about the Flight 253 attack, and what to do about Yemen, may be obscured by petty bickering over blame
Republicans have blocked additional funding to purchase TSA explosive detection machines,
and Sen. Jim DeMint placed a hold on the appointment of a new TSA chief because of fears he's pro-union.
On Monday ABC News revealed that two attack plotters had been released from Guantanamo – in November 2007, by the Bush-Cheney administration.Chuck

That vote was because the Democrats would not allow Republican amendments that could have strengthened the bill and funding, in other words it was a procedural maneuver no different than what the Democrats did when they were the minority.
Pic of the underwear bomb below. It contained 80 grams of PETN. In previous tests by the US 50 grams was enough to blow a hole through the side of an airliner.
My first impression was "AQ agents wear panties?"

Editor’s note: Detroit attorney Kurt Haskell dropped bombshell revelations concerning his eyewitness experience of the Flight 253 attack and how the FBI detained a second man after dogs detected a bomb in his luggage on The Alex Jones Show today. The FBI has not only ignored Haskell’s story, but they have launched a cover-up by refusing to even acknowledge the existence of another man who filmed the entire flight, including the aborted attack, as well as the well-dressed man who aided the bomber to board the plane even though he had no passport and was on a terror watch list.

Detroit attorney Kurt Haskell appeared on the Alex Jones Show today and detailed his experience at the Amsterdam airport and on flight 253. Mr. Haskell provided information not covered by the corporate media.
In addition to a detailed retelling of the story he gave the corporate media, Mr. Haskell addressed the unprofessional and lackadaisical behavior of the FBI and airport security after the plane landed at the Detroit Metro airport in Romulus, Michigan. He characterized their behavior as a “complete embarrassment. They actually put us in more jeopardy than we were already in.â€
Passengers were told to remain seated in the aircraft for 20 minutes after landing despite the fact security did not know at that point if there was an explosive on the plane or if the fire started by the suspect Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab while on descent to the airport had spread under the floor in the cabin or to the fuel tanks in the wings.
After being allowed to disembark from the plane by officials, passengers were detained in customs with their carry-on luggage for six hours while they waited to be interrogated by the FBI, according to Haskell.

Just came over the news that the Amsterdam airport had full body scanners but they weren't used for US bound flights
Seems the policy just changedDr. Mordrid

He was interviewed on NPR yesterday evening and said the FBI did listen to his story about the "well dressed" man.
An FBI spokes-person acknowledged it and said they were investigating it.
So I would take this with a gain of salt.
Interestingly, he said the "well dressed" man was older and looked "Indian."
Which made me think of Pakistan and the ties between AQ and Pakistan's security apparatus.
THAT could open up a whole new can of worms.Last edited by cjolley; 30 December 2009, 08:53.Chuck

An update on that TSA appointee of Obama's from the Washington Post;
TSA nominee gave misleading information to Congress, documents show
The White House nominee to lead the Transportation Security Administration gave Congress misleading information about incidents in which he inappropriately accessed a federal database, possibly in violation of privacy laws, documents obtained by The Washington Post show.
The disclosure comes as pressure builds from Democrats on Capitol Hill for quick January confirmation of Erroll Southers, whose nomination has been held up by GOP opponents. In the aftermath of an attempted airline bombing on Christmas Day, calls have intensified for lawmakers to install permanent leadership at the TSA, a critical agency in enforcing airline security.
Southers, a former FBI agent, has described inconsistencies in his accounts to Congress as "inadvertent" and the result of poor memory of an incident that dates back 20 years. He said in a Nov. 20 letter to key senators obtained by The Post that he accepted full responsibility long ago for a "grave error in judgment" in accessing confidential criminal records about his estranged wife's new boyfriend.
His letter to Senate homeland security Chairman Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) and ranking Republican Susan Collins (Maine), which has not been publicly disclosed, attempts to correct statements about the episode that were made in a sworn affidavit on Oct. 22 and have been previously reported.
