    Am out of hospital. In fact the hernia was relatively minor and the doc was able to reduce it with great difficulty. However, that was not the cause of the acute pain but an inflammation of the right epididymis adjacent to the ileum penetration into the scrotum (causal or coincidence). Treatment 6x500 mg ciprofloxacin IV + ciprofloxacin pills 250 mg 2/day next 10 days. still have some inflammation + up the vas deferens but the pain is diminishing. Surgery for the hernia is not deemed necessary yet and, in any case, may not be advisable with an infection in the same region.

    Still have discomfort but have painkillers for the evenings

    Ouch - that's not a fun place to get an infection

    You have my complete sympathy; I once had epididymitis as a side "benefit" of a urinary tract infection.

                Get well, but dont get too well.

                I find that the rate of your fun and enlightning updates increase, whenever you are resting from some sort of medical condition.
