  • French anti-piracy agency infringes copyright...

The French anti-piracy agency recently revealed its new logo. And immediately, there surfaced a problem: the font used in the logo is copyrighted, and can only be used by French Telecom:
Hadopi, the French agency charged with handling file-sharers' copyright digressions, has just made a huge infringement faux pas of its own. Last week the group unveiled the logo which is set to represent this bastion of copyright righteousness, but embarrassingly it was designed with unlicensed fonts.

The intent of the agency is to pursue copyright infringes, with a 3-strikes law being used (3 strikes = internet blocked). Looks like they have 2 strikes left...

Of course, other organizations are now using this as an example how easy it can be to infringe some copyright.

It's never about anyones copyright, only their own copyright is holy

      Bunch of twats here. Really.

What with the Presidents multimedia division copying DVD's without any licence and distributing them.....

There are laws for the "nice people who pay taxes, and our salaries" and laws for "the bastards who run the country, with our money, and putting as much in their pockets as possible".

Not being French, but having lived here for 22 years, I am still not allowed to vote outside of the local elections for Mayor, and thats because there are only 200-odd people in our vilage and the village next door we depend upon....it still took them more than 10 years to allow me to vote....
There IS a consideration that "foreigners" will be allowed to vote in regional elections sometime in the next tens years......maybe.

EDIT : UPDATE : Nope. The Prez here has said bascially that it won't be anytime soon that immigrants (non-French people) will be able to vote in regional elections, no chance for prez elections....meh. Basically the Left quickly proposed a law, and the right quashed any chance...
