  • Netflix streaming to the Wii

Netflix is now taking reservations for the Wii streaming disk if you have an unlimmited streaming plan, which they just about all are.
You put in the disk and it lets your Wii stream netflix content.
I don't know when the disks will actually start shipping.
    They say "Spring"

    News article about it: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100113/...x_nintendo_wii

PS If you know anything about tv-tuner cards and such please see my question @ http://forums.murc.ws/showthread.php?t=69077

from my perspective there are two problems...

1-I'm Canadian and for some stupid reason sites like Netflix do not stream to Canadians. The same thing goes for Sony as well. It's as if we do not have enough people living in this country to justify the additional servers to accommodate the extra traffic. Sony outright refuses to provide Canadians with any streaming content what so ever.

2-The Wii's max resolution is 480p 16:9 with no upscaling capabilities to HD. It's ok I guess, but for many people who like to view HD content are out of luck.

    Thoughts?

dont blame the sites for not streaming to anywhere outside US, blame MPAA and their ilk for it
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.
