Smallville: Absolute Justice

Did anyone else watch Smallville: Absolute Justice last week? I was really surprised at how good it was, and the ratings reflected it - the highest for the series in years. It's getting pretty dark, and they've introduced the Checkmate agency. A meta-human recruited by Checkmate is causing trouble and the crew, including Jon Jonzz, Hawkman, Sandman, Atom, Fate, Star Girl and others, get on the case.

The partnering of Hawkman and Green Arrow was a pretty classic personality conflict

Anyhow, it's made pretty clear that this season is ramping up to the formation of Justice League, with mentoring by some of the old JSA members led by Hawkman. Chloe Sullivan has taken on the role of manning The Watchtower coordinating efforts.

Didn't fate make some comment about Chloe sharing his fate?
Makes me think she will be drawn to the helmet shortly.

Took that two ways: she could take the helmet, but he also died so this could be Clarks final disconnect from his Smallville past. That could trigger his move on to becoming Superman and the formation of the Justice League, which is IMO where WB is going - Smallville ends and a Justice League series begins.
