Screenplay: Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island, Birds of Prey - TV)

Word is it's getting the full-shot spectacle treatment.

Matrix producer Joel Silver said years ago in the Animatrix DVD extra features that the Wachowski brothers showed him GITS when they pitched the film, saying it was the inspiration for the themes and look they wanted to use. He snatched it up immediately.
