A new Superman movie is in the works.
Forget Bryan Singer. Forget Brandon Routh.
Not much info, but the writer announced today is a stunner
Studio: Warmer Brothers
Screenplay: David S. Goyer (Batman #3 (in development), The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Dark City, Blade etc. etc.)
Also: the version of Superman they're going for is similar to the one created by John Byrne (who worked on a ton of Marvel's characters and for Dark Horse comics); Siegel and Shuster's Superman blended smoothly with the one from the Max Fleischer animations. Clark is more aggressive and Superman far less of a boy scout.
Goyer's story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and the Daily Planet is struggling due to the 'net, just as with real papers today. Threre is also to be a huge role to be played by Kryptonian mythology.
YEAH BABY!!!!
The involvement of Luthor and Brainiac reminds me of a story arc in the Superman animated series of the 90's where Brainiac comes to Earth and offers Sups a look at his history through the computer in his spaceship. Meanwhile he's conspiring with LexCorp, but then turns on Luthor and takes over his companies computer.
Now, if they can get Christopher Nolan to direct....
