I know how tough that can be.
My boss spent the better part of a year going through similar issues. By the time it was over, he lost 3 toes, and spent months on and off the booties and carrying around portable IVs for his antibiotics.
But he didn't do what he was supposed to. His doc told him to take 3 weeks off, and stay off his foot. He took 3 days off, and was limping all over the shop. Did that repeatedly, till he was on the verge of loosing the whole foot and finally took a couple weeks off, and seems to be doin better now.
Take it easy. Go slow. Let it heal.
