You might want to read about Iceland's part in it here.
This thread is about the volcano.
Arguments are being made about Co2 levels put out by the volcano, and how that should impact unrelated financial issues.
    It shouldn't.

If you want to argue Icelands debts aside from the volcano issues, go open a new thread in the political forum.
Those issues have nothing to do with the eruption.

On a happy note, I am back from Australia and 2.0 upgrades, and the volcano didn't disrupt my flight.
Though both Sydney and Narita airports were a little quiet...

Wonderful pictures! I really like that first one...

(But I'm pretty sure the chopper is quite far in the distance. If the photo is taken with a long zoomlens - which seems logical to me - than it does have the side effect of tending to flatten everything more)

I found this data via gizmodo though: http://www.informationisbeautiful.ne...es-or-volcano/
They estimate the daily CO2 output of the vulcano at 15000 tons, based on extrapolation from Mount Pinatubo. The closed airspace however saves more CO2 than the vulcano releases...
            They have updated the (gu)estimates

            150000+ tons per day

I think we should throw Al Gore ( Teh Goreacle) in the volcano to stop it.

I know he's not a virgin but he is very phat and has a larger carbon footprint than most people I know..... So, he should be able to plug it up real good....

Put it this way: I bet half the people here have a considerably smaller carbon footprint than he does! I have two problems with him: his utterances are often unscientific and he does not practice what he preaches.

Hence the rolleyes . All of his 'environmental' initiatives seem to have a direct effect on his pocket book. I think we know where his motivations lie.

Won't it make the volcano more angry?
