    Reach out and touch someone.

A 1 watt direct-blue (no power-robbing crystals to change wavelength) laser in a lightsaber handle. THIS LASER CAN SET FLESH AND OTHER MATERIALS ON FIRE!!

    $197.97

The new Arctic is more intense than ever before, with over 3,500mW of fully variable power, all-new modes, and a laser power indicator. Prepare to witness what the next generation of ultimate laser technology can do.

Such lasers are illegal to import here. History of idiots lasing aircraft cockpits coming into land.

Why would anyone want one of these outside a lab?

I can see thugs using the likes of this to randomly assult people.

Different countries have different laws regarding lasers, especially Class IV lasers like this. I have several here for different projects, but these direct blue lasers are new on the scene. Regulation won't help too much either since they can be extracted from a new generation of home/business digital laser projectors.

The warning text on their site is enough to make me want to ban the sale of said device.....

Probably covered by my concealed weapons permit since it permits weapons generically and not just guns: up to 5 weapons on ones person at a time (ex: guns in belt clip, two shoulder and two ankle holsters), or combinations of guns, knives over 3" (up to that: no permit needed), cane sword, Taser etc.

Yes , people don't realise how laser light gets reflected. Specular reflection from almost any angle can cause eye damage without even being pointed at your eyes.(or direct reflection)

There are laws in Australia which seek to limit powerful laser devices be sold directly to the public, However you can get them quite easily, you will have your name registered when you purchase anything over a couple of 100mW.

I pretty sure they will simple refuse anything over the 1/2 watt range unless you have a legitimate registered business and certification.(well I hope so anyway)
