Dr. Strange was a rather egotistical neurosurgeon until his hands were damaged in a car accident. He sought treatment everywhere until he found a sorcerer who eventually trained him as a master sorcerer in the white and dark arts. Very, very powerful.

We're just over three months from the official launch of Marvel Studios'"Phase Two" of their cinematic universe when Iron Man 3 hits theaters on May 3rd.

Today, President of Production Kevin Feige updated MTV with plans for future big screen entries that look even further into the futre. Ant-Man, he says, will officially launch "Phase Three" and early plans also call for the long-rumored Doctor Strange to be included.

"'Doctor Strange,' which I've been talking about for years, is definitely one of them," Feige said. "He's a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he's totally different from anything else we have, just like 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' He's totally different from anything we've done before, as is 'Ant-Man,' which keeps us excited."

Screen Rant and others are reporting rumors & hints that Dr. Stephen Strange will be introduced in the Phase 2 Thor: The Dark World as a colleague of Jane Foster, and that he'll be in all 3 acts.

Several sources report Viggo Mortensen and Joel Edgerton as being top choices, with Mortensen in active negotiations for a Phase 2 part, but other sources say Patrick Dempsey is campaigning for it bigtime.

Remember what Mortensen did with Lucifer in The Prophecy - he would chew into Dr. Strange like a rottweiler with a big bone

Phase 3 is going to bring in characters other than the ones seen in Avengers and the other phases. Dr. Strange, Ant-Man and his wife Wasp are for starters, but if this all leads into a big film based on The Defenders it'll he a treat.
