    That and better refing.

    Even without that reffing mistake, Germany made rings round England, so what's the fuss?

      No arguments we were deservedly trounced, but Elie is right. It's ridiculous that something the rest of the world can see can't be made available to officials.

        my 2 cents,
        Germany were better than England in last night's game. However the better team doesn't always win and if the england goal had been allowed (the fourth official could give his input to the linesman and referee) the game would have been closer. Precedent has been set, when Zidane's headbutt was not seen by the referee or linesman but the fourth official.

        I don't blame the linesman for the england goal as i too couldn't see it properly the first time, i thought i saw the keeper catch the ball outside about 1m away from goal after it hit the underside of the bar and bounced back off the ground. I only saw how far inside the goal the ball went when seeing the replay. The ball was moving very fast.

          Germany was better than England I agree, but that's not what I am talking about...It's the flaw in the game itself that allows humans to make huge mistakes that results in a team winning or losing.

          All I'm saying is with the help of technology that is available today, could assist in a big way not just to determine if the ball passed the goal line, but other bad foul calls and all else that goes undetected.

          And what's with the diving act anyway hehe

                They are meant to play not to watch, even less so on television.

                  That seems silly to me. Surely, the games in the Roman arena's were to watch. no?

                    I don't understand why Americans think baseball and golf are exciting but soccer is boring. Those two "sports" are easily the most boring, snore inducing popular athletic competitions out there. At least people move more than once every 30 seconds in soccer.

                    baseball == boring
                    golfing == snoring

                        I can't believe Ghana missed 3 penalty kicks in 1 game.

                          England can't even win in today's match ( Aus by 42 runs).
