    Andrew Garfield

    Andrew WHO??

Well....in his first major film, 2007's "Boy A," he won a BAFTA* Best Actor award. He'll also have a lead role in the upcoming sci-fi flick "Never Let Me Go," based on the 2006 Arthur C. Clarke Award winning novel by Kazuo Ishiguro.

UK-Raised Theater Actor Nabs "Spider-Man" Role

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A virtual unknown has landed the coveted lead role in the upcoming resurrection of the "Spider-Man" movie franchise, ending an intense search that attracted virtually every eligible actor in the business.

Andrew Garfield, 26, will take over the Peter Parker/Spider-Man role played by Tobey Maguire in a trilogy that generated more than $2.5 billion at the worldwide box office, distributor Columbia Pictures said on Thursday.

The Sony Corp unit will release the film in 3D on July 3, 2012.

Garfield, who was born in Los Angeles and raised in Britain, has headlined only one movie, the little-seen UK crime drama "Boy A," for which he won a Bafta award in 2008.

His upcoming releases include the thriller "Never Let Me Go," in which he co-stars with Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan, and the Facebook movie "The Social Network."

Garfield also had small roles in such box office weaklings as "The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus" and "Lions for Lambs." Much of his resume boasts British stage and TV work.

"Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents," director Marc Webb said in Columbia's statement.

"He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker."

Other reported contenders for the role included Logan Lerman ("Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief"), Josh Hutcherson ("Journey to the Center of the Earth"), Jamie Bell ("Billy Elliot") and Aaron Johnson ("Kick-Ass").

"Boy A" is a very good movie.
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite criticism."

He looks to be more suited to play Spiderman, I hope it all goes well for the flick. I am a fan of the comic.

Emma Stone looks like she's 50 years old, how can she play Gwen?

And Sally Field as Aunt May? Hmmmmmm I think the casting has gone down hill.

Who is playing J. Jonah Jameson and Mary Jane Watson? because i think the cast for Spiderman 1 2 3 was awesome aside from Tobey Maguire.

The new Marvel flicks are taking their cues from the Ultimate series, and there Aunt May is much younger - late 40's/early 50's. She's also a lot more active; eventually dating after Uncle Ben's death, taking in mutants who need shelter (Iceman, Shadowcat etc.) - even having lovers.

No word on who'll play JJJ, but the MJ in the Tobey McGuire films was almost a composite of MJ and Gwen since in that version the latter was Peters first girlfriend, not MJ.

In Ultimate Gwen is strong-willed, almost a punker, independent and eventually is transformed into Carnage. Makes sense if the Lizard is in this.

              Also, Emma Stone looks 50?!?

I was only looking at IMDB shots or Emma...

Hardly as flattering as the picture you provide which is awesome.
