  • Michigan market goes EV

Michigan's Meijer hypermarkets, the ones that make Wal-Mart look small, are installing complimentary EV charging stations for their customers. Michigan stores will be first, but plans are for their stores throughout the US Midwest to get them.

    Complimentary as in 'FREE' ?

ie, they charge your car while you shop ?

Could be on to a winner there.

Yup, free - plug in while you shop.

This is the same place whose on-lot gas stations not only carry gasoline but diesel, E-85 and natural gas. They also carry fresh produce from >250 local growers most of the year & discounted dept. store goods. Open 24 hours too.

Wal-Mart's been trying to put a dent in Meijers for 20 years in Michigan, but no cigar. Not even a candy cigarette.

I'll bet they spend more in the shop or cafe while they wait. Win win.
