  • Wait! What?!? Touchdown!!!

These kids are probably still celebrating

And yes, it's a legit play as long as the ball isn't handed off forward and no linemen go offside. The center handed it over his left shoulder and no one crossed the line. Perfectly executed.

Corpus Christi, Texas – During Saturday’s middle school championship game against rival Wynn Seale, Driscoll Middle School pulled off an incredible trick play and scored a touchdown.

Down 6-0 with the clock winding down, the Driscoll Middle School quarterback, Jason Garza, received the ball from the center in an unconventional manner and was able to run 68 yards for a touchdown without a single member of the opposing team laying a finger on him, according to a number of reports.

Driscoll Rangers coach Art Rodriguez told The New York Daily News that it was the first time they had ever tried it. And that the Penalty Play was drawn up by his assistant coach John Delosantos.

“This has been one of the highlights [of my 31-year] career,” says Rodriguez.

Unfortunately, Driscoll missed an extra point after the touchdown and the game ended with a 6-6 tie.

The “Driscoll Middle School Quarterback Clever Trick Video” was posted on YouTube yesterday, now it’s already an Internet sensation. It has already received over 661,700 hits and over 3,200 comments.

We had a trick play in college like that. The QB would start his cadence and in mid-word the center would snap the ball. No one on the line would move but the center (6'3" 350 lbs Polynesian) who would block out the nose guard while the QB dove for the first down.
