You may recall I mentioned this when advertising our previous fund raising efforts.
On Saturday 29th Jan, Alex Linley swam Llyn Llydaw on Mount Snowdon, North Wales. The water was just 1C and he was in there for about three minutes.
We took the event very seriously, with me cast in the role of Project Leader. Extensive preparations included ice-bath immersions at Warwick Uni.Our team included a doctor, a sports-scientist from Exeter Uni and members of a sub-aqua club to provide the safety boat, transport and filming.
You can see the full swim here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nW9MftHh1o
Also there are a couple of fun peices at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4XkNjjS0qs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyCSE1HkvXo
So far there have been articles in a couple of local papers, we are hoping for national coverage. Edit: more papers racking up and at least one TV interview confirmed
The event was a huge success and has helped us along the way to our £20,000 target.
