Those were both very good, probably the best in book.

Doc, what was you pick for move teaser? Battle Los Angeles was actually my favorite.

Battle: LA was pretty good, but it's had trailers up for weeks.

Super 8 has had a teaser up for months, but the old and new promos for it are both thin - but very promising.

My favorite was Captain America: The First Avenger because there was nothing but stills before, and it showed some real promise when put in motion. There were a lot of fast cuts, but they were revealing - Red Skull's "face," action shots of Cap and enough tone comes through to get me wound up. After loading it into an editor and saving stills & doing slow-mo's even more so.

Apparently the TIVO audience agrees - it was the most re-played trailer of the night, and scored a huge number of hits & repeat hits online.

It certainly wasn't the one for Transformers.

I liked the VW, Captain America, and Battle: LA ones the most. There were some other ones I thought were funny, but I can't remember what they were for.

So you can fit 10 commercials and several trailers into a handegg match? How many and how long are the breaks? Is the break all commercials or do you have studio analysis of the match with experienced coaches and players commenting.

I watched the commercials online and Passat was IMO the best one.

As for captain America: lead actor and director don't offer much promise based on what they did so far.

The Motorola Xoom commercial was a HARD crotch kick to Apple. Basically taking Apple's 1984 commercial and reinventing it, this time with Apple as the antagonist. While Apple was down, Motorola did not waste the opportunity to use Apple's image as a rag to smear Apple poo on the floor with.

All of the Pepsico commercials earned a pass:

                    Doritos "Finger licking" was outrageous
                    Doritos "Resurrection" was good
                    Pepsi "Cooler Launcher" was OK
                    Pepsi "Max Thrower" was hilarious.

Bridgestone's "Reply to All" was awesome... rapidly becoming the second most played.

My wife's comment was, "No wonder the rest of the world thinks [American] football is stupid. There are way to many commercials." The networks are really going overboard on the commercial thing. If there is a perceived 15-30 second pause in th egame they go to commercial.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they try to show 5-10 second spots between plays soon. It's getting so bad I only watch games when I think it will be a good match and never watch just for fun anymore.

But I digress...the XOOM commercial was an awesome Apple diss. If it wasn't going to be $700 I'd consider it. Maybe the WiFi only version will be reasonable.

Here it's similar wrt to commercials during games, though it depends who bought the rights. If our evil socialist national TV, for which you are required to pay subscription if you have electrical power in your household (you need to prove you don't live there in order not to pay which is hard) and on mode of it being run we hold a nationwide referendum every time there's a change in government, bought the rights, there are less commercials and sometimes no commercials if game goes in a break. If it's evil capitalist owned private TV there are more commercials. This year I think superbowl was even televised here (didn't watch it).

For me handegg is like cricket. I had a coworker from one of eastern Commonwealth countries and I kept telling him: Man, you're in a free country, you can stop pretending you like cricket now!
