It's probably a Starfleet Section 31 ship, which differ from the rest of Starfleets vessels.

I sure hope they don't muddy time travel's name anymore than they already did with the first movie (which I loved nonetheless). So instead of from the future, it may be from another advanced species or beings.

Looking at the Vengeance with all its angularity, it almost looks like they mated a starfleet vessel with one from the Klingons.

This has time travel written all over it. Starfleet officer left for dead discovers (or is given) advanced technology from the future which heals him but leaves him bitter and vengeful and a little crazy and only Kirk knows his one weakness.

Should I have said "spoiler alert?"

This whole thing makes me think the Federations Section 31 is involved. They also played part in Undiscovered Country (Adm. Cartwright & Co.), Insurrection (Vice Adm. Dougherty & Co.), DS9 (Dominion war - the poisoning of Odo to kill off the Founders), Enterprise (Malcom Reed) and Voyager.

Another look at Vengeance (grabbed frame & adjusted the gamma)

That thing looks insanely huge. I vaguely recall other ships larger than the Enterprise, but this just seems like something else altogether. When seeing it fleetingly in the trailers I kept thinking it looked like a giant Enterprise, but thought surely I was wrong.

I can't see it here without bloody french subs, and my eyes go to the subs. Pisses me off sooooo much, I haven't been back for years.
