  • Steve Jobs dead

    AP reports & Apple.com confirms

Not unexpected. The last picture I saw of him he very much looked terminal. Seen many in that condition after a bout with pancreatic cancer. Nasty disease.

I have no doubt that Apple will be fine without Jobs, but that said, a big part of the company is now gone and there's not like to be anyone like him again.

      He was a genius.

Apple will keep momentum for at least a decade (depending on how Tim Cook and successors run the company). But no company has been at the top of technology sector forever (except maybe IBM) and we have seen many big names decline.

The world truly lost an icon and a visionary. I am hoping that Apple maintains status quo under Tim Cooks leadership, since Steve himself appointed him as the next successor.

May you rest in peace Steve

Yes, he was a visionary, and pulled Apple back from the brink.
NeXT was a great company, with great products.

Tim Cook won't be able to follow in his footsteps, he needs to create his own footsteps.

RIP Steve, and thanks for everything.

He will be missed (for lots of reasons )

But I do wonder if he'd still been alive if he had the surgical treatment imediatley instead of a year later after he had pulled his head out of his ass and stopped believeing he could diet it away

Ninety-five percent of the people diagnosed with this cancer will not be alive 5 years later.

He made it to 7 years! I've lost three colleagues/friends to this and, despite the best and most advanced treatment, two didn't make three years (one was in his early 30s) and the third lasted just five years.

so perhaps it didnt make any diff, but would you recomend waiting an extra year before medical treatment?
