I think Brian and I experienced the same WOW!! moment- largely because the cataract effects color, optical silicone really is that good, and the UV filter.

      WOW!

      The colour is more vibrant!

      And I can see stuff!

Well, I could before, but with the right eye only. I should have had this done years ago.

Retina repair went well - apparently only one spot with the laser. The new lens is working great - no distortion.

One slight snag. When looking at 'point' light - eg a streetlamp at the end of the street - I see a slight ghost image to the right, and up. Slight Parhelia !!! round some brighter lights too... He warned me it was possible, with the Iris as it is. He promised a slip knot in the iris, if it was a significant issue. Its not.

I am typing this with my good eye closed, to try it out. TBH, I will need glasses for monitor work, but thats cool.

Very pleased with the outcome. A little sore still - I have to take anti inflamitories for a few weeks, other than that, I can lift stuff and drive in a week.

          Excellent!!!!

I had a bit of fuzziness at first too. It'll be a week or two before any slight distortions go bye-bye as the retina will have to settle down, and there may be swelling in other parts affecting the image.

Still, you now know what the Technicolor moment's like

I agree. Count on 4-6 weeks before the lens unfolds completely to its definitive shape with max improvement in vision. I would guess that your high contrast double vision and haloes will probably disappear.
