Motorola wins Windows 7 ban in Germany

Injunctions like this get granted all the time. It's no guarantee that any ban will be enforced.
This whole lawsuit stinks of a pre-emptive strike by Google (who is buying Moto Mobile) to better position Android in the marketplace by giving them better bargaining powers if/when Microsoft comes after Moto/Google for patents that Android infringes upon. The number of which have increased now that MSFT bought out the old Netscape/AOL and Nortel patent portfolios...on top of their own very large cache of patents that date back to the first smartphone days (Microsoft has been in the smartphone market longer than Google, Moto and Apple).
There was a huge injunction against MSFT back in the Win95/98 days because of a Java infringement suite. In the end it cost MSFT some cash but it didn't stifle their sales.
Ultimately they'll sue each other into an agreement of some sort. FRAND patent infringement is hard to make stick because by nature they are supposed to be accessible to everyone for a "fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory" price since they are required parts of an industry standard.

And the drama continues. Microsoft just won an ITC injunction over Motorola that could disrupt phone sales in the US.
